Gluten Free REstaurant Reviews
Newlita, Salad Bar- Tours, France
I stumbled upon this salad bar when I was really in a pinch. I was going on a day trip to a castle and had already gone to a number of stores in search of a salad, or something for lunch, but I couldn't find anything. Then I literally walked past this place, and it was absolutely perfect. You could customize your salad to be exactly how you wanted it. So I had romaine lettuce, smoked salmon, bell peppers, roasted zucchini, tomatoes, avocado, and sesame seeds. It was so delicious, and for how good it was, I thought it was reasonably priced. I knew exactly what I was eating, I was able to order it to go and then eat it on the train. I could not have asked for a better lunch!

RawCoco- La Rochelle, France
Rawcoco is a lovely little organic restaurant that offers a number of gluten and dairy free products. They serve everything from main entres, desserts, coffees, and even ice cream. When I went, I ordered a hot chocolate with homemade almond milk. They even had the option of adding coconut whipped cream! There were so many things I wanted to try, I will just have to find a reason to go back. On all of their products, they list the ingredients, which is also super helpful for all food allergies. You can find the restaurant just a few steps from the port.

Yummy & Guiltfree- Paris, France
This was a true gem that I found in Paris. Just a five minute walk from Notre Dame, it's even in a convenient location for site-seeing. They make both savory and sweet gluten free waffles, and some even dairy free as well. The waffles were so delicious that I went there twice in the span of 4 days, and seriously contemplated going back a third time. The first time I tried their caramel waffle, which was made with a dairy free caramel sauce and topped with a soy-milk based whipped cream. It was pure joy. The second time, I tried la crème citron, and it was equally as delicious! A little less sugary, and more subtle in flavor, but worth every bite. The restaurant truly lives up to their name.
Helmut Newcake- Paris, France
A REAL patisserie... SANS GLUTEN! Wow! How exciting! When I went here, I was exuding happiness. For so long I had wanted to experience real french pastries, and here I found a patisserie 100% gluten free with even lactose free options. When I went, I tried the citron meringuée, sans lactose and l'eclair chocolat noisette, sans lactose, both of which, were exceptional. I had the impression that I was eating a normal patisserie, not anything that was gluten or dairy free.
They also had a rhubarb meringuée, financiers, cannelés, and madeleines that looked very tempting. I probably could have eaten everything that was there, if we're being honest. In addition, it's just steps from Le Madeline and la galerie lafayette and Printemps, so a convenient stop for a little gluten free treat. I can't wait to return and try something new! |
